About Padfoundry
Padfoundry is a Sidtech line of orthopedic foam mattresses, built for senior dogs.
We started Padfoundry because every mattress in our own dogs' lives bottomed out within a year. The mass-market beds compressed flat under medium-weight dogs in eight months. The premium DTC options were three times the price for the same foam underneath. Neither was built for the specific problem a senior dog has — a body that's slowing down, joints that compress more deeply into the pad, a sleep posture that lingers longer.
How it works
You pick a size on the site. The order goes to a California foam atelier. The pad is cut, sewn, finished, and shipped directly to you. Sidtech handles the brand, the website, customer support, and shipping logistics. The atelier handles fabrication.
Lead time is 7–10 business days for standard sizes; custom-spec runs the same. Every pad is built only after you've paid for it — no held units, no overstock, no clearance markdowns. The unit economics of made-to-order go back to you, not to warehouse rent.
What we publish
Density (lb/ft³) and ILD (indentation load deflection, lb at 25% compression) on every product page. Layer-by-layer foam construction. Dimensions, lead times, dog-weight ranges.
Most pet-bedding brands don't publish density or ILD. That makes apples-to-apples comparison shopping difficult on purpose. We publish the numbers because the only thing that matters to a senior dog with joint pain is whether the foam holds its shape over years — not whether the cover looks nice on Instagram.
Materials
All foam is CertiPUR-US certified — no formaldehyde, no prohibited flame retardants, no heavy metals above safe limits, low-VOC emissions. Density and ILD vary by spec tier; both are listed per product. Covers are washable. Foam cores stay sealed.
What we don't do
- We don't say "premium." Show, don't tell.
- We don't say "clinically proven." A 40-dog single-arm study without a disclosed control group isn't a clinical proof.
- We don't say "vet recommended" without a quote, a vet, and a published source.
- We don't run urgency timers, fake countdowns, or "low stock" warnings.
- We don't recommend a pad we wouldn't put under our own dog.
